I'm delighted to have you here, where I invite you to explore my journey in the captivating world of Sound, Light, and Live Event Engineering. My name is Ayanangshu Biswas, and I am currently a third-year BSc (Hons) student at the University of Derby, deeply passionate about audio, lighting, and the art of live event production.
Throughout my career, I’ve accumulated over 600 hours of hands-on experience as a Technician & Operator in the University of Derby’s radio and TV studios, working with industry-standard gear like the Calrec Type R audio desk and Newtek Tricaster II video desk. I’ve also been a part of the university's lighting team for client-based projects, contributing to events like WFR Central Festival 2024, UoD Student Union Awards 2024, and the Glitz Glamour Cancer Charity Event 2024, Rare Disease Day 2025.
In India, I worked as a Lighting and Sound Designer at Universal Sound and Light, programming and operating systems like Madrix lighting control and Pangolin laser systems, while also designing and optimising and deploying L-Acoustics sound systems (K2, KS28, KARA II) for live concerts and corporate events. I’ve collaborated with TV channels like Zee Bangla and Colours Bangla, tailoring high-quality audio-visual experiences to their needs.
I hold multiple industry-recognized certifications, including:
WAVES SoundGrid (101–301)
L-Acoustics Live Sound
Dante Level 1–3
Meyer Sound Portable Systems Deployment & Low Frequency Control
Shure RF Wireless & Axient Digital Systems
Harman Certified Pro Audio Designer
I’m proficient in software like SoundVision, LA Network Manager, EASE, SMAART, AutoCAD, WYSIWYG, and SketchUp, giving me a robust skill set to tackle sound system design, acoustical measurements, and lighting design for diverse live event scenarios.
As I continue to grow and learn, I am committed to pushing the boundaries of live event technology and delivering exceptional audio-visual experiences.
Whether it’s designing sound systems, programming lighting sequences, or troubleshooting complex setups, I bring a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and a deep passion for the industry to every project.

I am a passionate BSc (Hons) Sound, Light and Live Event Engineering student at the University of Derby, currently in my third year of study.
With a deep love for mostly sound engineering, and also lighting design, and live event production, I have gained valuable experience working in the field and honed my skills through practical projects and professional engagements.
During my academic journey, I had the privilege of working at Universal Sound and Light, a prominent company in eastern India.
My roles there included that of a sound system engineer, recordist and Front of house mixing engineer, where I contributed to the successful execution of various live events.
In addition, I served as a lighting operator, specializing in the use of GrandMA 3 consoles, Avolites Consoles and Madrix lighting, Pangolin Beyond software to create captivating visual experiences with lighting and lasers.
This multifaceted experience equipped me with a well-rounded understanding of the intricacies of sound and lighting in the live event industry.
I have expanded my knowledge through a variety of courses and hands-on training.
I completed the Shure RF Wireless Basics Training, attained Dante Level 3 certification, and pursued a comprehensive education in Waves Sound Grid from 101 to 301.
I also have certifications from loudspeaker companies like L-Acoustics for Audio Designing, Meyer Sound Portable Systems Deployment and Low Frequency Control done at University of Derby, and Harman Pro Audio Designer Certification.
My proficiency extends to audio mixing desks from Allen & Heath, DiGiCo Avid and Yamaha, studio mixing, and DAWs, including Apple Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools and Reaper.
I am well-versed in live mixing and recording, ensuring that every audio element is perfected to create unforgettable live experiences.
In the realm of lighting, I have worked with industry-standard lighting desks such as Avolites, grandMA 3, and Chamsys.
My expertise encompasses both the design and operation of these systems, ensuring that the visual aspect of any event is nothing short of spectacular.
To complement my technical skills, I am proficient in CAD software like AutoCAD, WYSIWYG, Vectorworks and SketchUp.
This knowledge enables me to create detailed plans and visual representations of live event setups, ensuring precision and efficiency in the production process.
In the realm of audio engineering, I excel in audio mapping, simulation and analysis using software such as EASE, RoomEQ Wizard, Smaart, LA SoundVision, and LA Network Manager.
These tools allow me to fine-tune sound systems, ensuring optimal acoustics and a superior auditory experience for the audience.

Live sound mixing is an intricate and dynamic process that involves capturing, processing, and blending multiple audio signals in real-time to create the perfect auditory experience for the audience.
The process of live sound mixing goes beyond the technical setup, it is about capturing the essence of the performance and making sure that the audience receives the full emotional impact of the sound. Whether it’s balancing the energy of a loud rock show or the subtle nuances of an acoustic performance, live sound mixing is both a technical and creative challenge that I am passionate about. My approach to live sound optimisation is rooted in both my academic learning and practical experience, ensuring that every event I work on delivers a polished and memorable auditory experience.
In my live sound mixing work, I focus on delivering a seamless and engaging auditory experience by carefully balancing each element of the sound system. I leverage my experience with a range of professional mixing desks, including Allen & Heath, DiGiCo, and Yamaha, to fine-tune every audio source in real-time, ensuring clarity and precision across all frequencies. I ensure that the sound adapts to the unique challenges of each venue, allowing the audience to experience the performance in its fullest, most immersive form.
